Fox Hunt Party Quick Guide
Now that it is autumn, I’m craving those fall leaves, wearing boots, and feeling cozy with a blanket in crisp air. One activity I have always wanted to do is go to an equestrian event like a Fox Hunt/Steeplechase. Watching the horses, hounds, and immaculately dressed riders perform while I drink a hot cider sounds like heaven! In that spirit I give you a quick party guide for a Fox Hunt that you can throw at your home whether or not you are able to attend such an event. Enjoy!
Invitations
Use this language on the main card: “Please join us for a faux fox hunt fête.” Set the time for 11 AM so the hunt can kick off around 11:30 and then your hungry riders can enjoy lunch in the early afternoon.
Tablescape/Decorations
I would recommend hosting this party outside along with plenty of blankets for those that are cold. If you have an outdoor heater or fire pit, turn those on. The vibe is cozy but in the fresh air.

Games/Activities
If you have a fun group, set up a faux steeplechase like a scavenger hunt all around the yard or your neighborhood. Get a toy fox and hide him somewhere and set up clues that lead to different locations eventually leading to the location of the fox. If there are kids present, they can pretend to be the dogs and lead the adults (the riders) from clue to clue. Or bring real dogs along for the fun! Be sure that all adult riders have a to-go cup of their preferred fall drink before they start the hunt.

What to Wear
Fall prep is the look! Plaid, blazers, boots, and scarves are ideal. Think Ralph Lauren meets English countryside. This article is very helpful for what you should wear. Below is some inspiration for you.
I hope you feel inspired to throw your own Fox Hunt party!
Cheers!
